Welcome To The High-Tech Coach!

The High-Tech Coach’s primary focus is on web design and technology coaching for coaches, counselors, and small businesses. My goal is to leverage off-the-shelf software to provide professional quality solutions quickly, and at an affordable price. I do so while providing a site that will be maintainable and extendable in the future, and one that will get you found in the search engines.

I’ll build it for you. I’ll show you how to make changes to it. Then it’s yours,  forever … and if you choose a maintenance plan,  I’ll run backups, updates, and security monitoring for you. You’ll have lifetime access to the support area here to answer your questions once the project is done. No B.S., no strings attached.

It’s a collaborative process … we’ll start with identification of your needs (this can be accomplished by filling out the Request For Quote form), then I’ll work with you to pick the best components to meet those needs. This will include stock images and photography, as well as any imagery you provide from other sources. To help with collaboration, I use Twiddla for holding brainstorming meetings and design reviews, and ProjectPier for tracking project tasks.

I also provide a number of resources to my clients via the Support page at no extra charge to them, now or ever. This will help those who want to take over some or all of their site’s design and content after project completion. You’ll have access to the Support resources as long as this site exists.

All my site development is done with WordPress, which has matured into a full-fledged Content Management System (CMS) that’s ideal for small and medium sized business sites of all sorts. I frequently use two different professional-quality frameworks for developing sites, Builder and Genesis, and will seek to find the framework/theme that will best meet my client’s needs;  every site comes with a bunch of great features at no extra charge to you, like a mobile version for iPads and smartphones, and automated backup software. And I can use powerful plugins like Pods CMS, which lets me use PHP to design custom content types and functionality to do pretty much anything you can think of, and BuddyPress, which creates powerful social networking sites (think Facebook and LinkedIn) .

That’s why quality is the first keyword in my site slogan: my focus is on quality sites fast, no B.S. or drama. If I feel a site is beyond the scope of what The High-Tech Coach is about, or that it would be better done in different software like Joomla or Drupal, I’ll let you know up front.

Every site comes with documentation so that if you decide to go it alone or have someone else maintain your site, you’ll be able to do so with minimal interruption. My background includes a lot of work in technical communication, training, and documentation so I’m able to work effectively with my clients to understand their needs and develop sites that meet those needs.

About Me:

I’ve been in the software business for a long time, and know WordPress as well as PHP, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. All of these are necessary for Vasily Ingoglyimplementing powerhouse WordPress sites. You can see some of my work on my Portfolio page. In a few years, I hope to move to South Carolina and continue my adventures as a WordPress guru there.

In addition to my technical skills, I’m an entrepreneur, a licensed counselor and Board Certified Coach (BCC), so whatever your problem domain and challenges, I’m likely to be able to come up with a solution that’s right for you.
