You know you could be using technology more effectively in your private practice, agency, or small business. But where do you start? The High-Tech Coach can help! My name is Vasily Ingogly, and I am an experienced career coach and counselor as well as a software professional with over 30 years' experience in a variety of high-tech businesses.
| Whatever your technology needs, I can help you find the right-size solution at an affordable price. I do this by looking for open source or affordable off-the-shelf solutions where possible to help control development and maintenance costs, and by designing solutions that fit within your current budget but provide flexibility for future growth. I do this by employing what I like to call the Good Enough Solutions © design process: |
|
- Requirements Analysis - What do you need, and what do you want? In this step, I’ll work with you to discover the answers to these basic questions. This will involve identification of functionality needed, your practice message, the profiles of the clients you’re trying to reach, marketing parameters, and time frame for a solution. You may come into the process with a clear vision of what you need and where you want to go; in that case, this step and the next may be handled in our initial conversation. Your requirements will be documented in this step.
- Solution Mapping and Planning - The right solution for you may involve some mix of hardware and software, plus manual processes. Not all solutions require an expensive application of heavy-duty technology, and it’s in this step that we will work together to decide on the scope of the problem and find a Good Enough Solution © to address the problem. We’ll discuss short-term goals for your business as well as long-term goals, and work to define how technology can help you meet those goals. I will be able to provide you with a set of estimates for the solution cost at this point, and a project contract including payment agreements. Where applicable, I will provide you with multiple solutions for your review. If a project is beyond my abilities, I will let you know and find someone who can help you implement your project. The chosen solution and plan for implementation will be documented in this step.
- Design and Implementation - I will design a solution that fits within your budget and time-frame, that is as high-quality as I can make it, and that conforms to your profession’s ethical standards (including HIPAA for those of you who are counselors). During this step, I may ask you to draft and supply content, to review the solution alternatives I develop, and to revise them until they meet your standards for quality and usability. Where necessary, I will detail the tradeoffs that may need to be made to keep within your budget and time-frame constraints.
- Verification and Acceptance - In this step, you will verify that the solution I’ve developed meets your requirements as documented in Step 1 and what we’ve agreed to in the project contract. When you are satisfied with the results, the project will be considered complete and will move into the Maintenance step.
- Maintenance and Enhancement - You may choose to engage my services for maintenance of your solution. Or, you may choose to come back for additional services if and when you need them. The nature of any maintenance agreement will be written into the contract in Step 2.
I have made every effort to make this process form-driven and as streamlined as possible. The initial consultation is at no cost to you, so why not give The High-Tech Coach a try?
