I can develop for you websites ranging in complexity from simple online brochures to interactive data-driven sites. There are certain technologies I don't work with, so if you need help with one of these I'll help you find someone who has the expertise to develop your site:

• I develop sites that will be hosted on Unix/Linux servers, not for Windows servers. I don't do ActiveX programming, or ASP.NET.
• I develop sites that will run on all modern browsers: Internet Explorer 7 and above, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari. I can't guarantee full feature compatibility with Internet Explorer 6 and earlier in the lower-end packages; if this is a requirement, I will have to handle the project as a custom project (Package Four)
• Programming languages and packages I know include: HTML/XHTML, DHTML CSS, PHP, MySQL, some javascript. I know MediaWiki and WordPress, have some experience with Moodle, and I can do light AJAX and Drupal work. I don't do Perl programming, JAVA, ActiveX, ASP.NET, Oracle, Ruby, or other web technologies.
• I don't do Flash programming (though I can include canned Flash scripts in a site).
• I use RapidWeaver for website development, along with CSSEdit and Taco HTML Edit. I don't use DreamWeaver or GoLive.

Although I am physically located in Illinois, I've collaborated long distance with offshore consultants and feel that the distance on a map no longer needs to be a barrier between a client and a service provider. There are a number of options for collaboration, including phone, email, video and nonvideo chat, GoToMyPC, Dropbox (for file interchange), and so on. That's why I say that I can provide services to clients nationwide (and if you're outside the USA, that doesn't have to prevent our working productively together).

I use RealMac Software's RapidWeaver on a MacBook Pro to develop your basic site, with third-party themes and plugins as necessary to obtain the results you desire. Various graphics tools are used to prepare images and headers, and where needed I will find the most cost-effective scripts and software to implement the dynamic behavior you need while keeping costs under control. A detailed list of software with provider websites will be provided with your project proposal.

For completely custom (hand-designed) sites, I use a variety of site editing tools that run on Mac OS X.

Before we start work, I'll work with you to determine if The High-Tech Coach is a good match for your needs; if it isn't, I'll work with you to find someone who can provide services that are more appropriate for you. I want all my clients to be happy and will go to great lengths to ensure our agreement is clear and precise, so there will be no doubt about acceptance of the final result. If we can't reach an agreement on project completion, I will refund 100% of the labor costs and help you find someone else to complete the project (you will pay only for any hardware, software, or services purchased in support of the project).

I was the HIPAA Compliance Officer at my last agency position, and know the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules very well. I can help you come up with a plan that uses technology effectively in your practice but is still compliant with the HIPAA requirements.

If your site design includes a blog, you can login to your blog from any browser and make changes to it. In addition, I can set up certain areas on pages that you can edit. If you want a fully editable site, that can be done with a content management system (CMS) like SilverLight or Drupal. Sites that are developed with RapidWeaver can be edited after delivery ... but doing so or hiring someone else to do so will invalidate any existing maintenance agreement.
