Website Design:


There are several website design packages available, based on your level of need. If you choose a package and find it doesn’t meet your needs or find later that you've outgrown it, we can discuss moving your project to another package.

PACKAGE ONE: Online Brochure


This package will provide you with a basic online presence, the equivalent of an online brochure. This package is also useful for online resumes/CVs. You provide the content, I can build, host, and maintain the site for you.
  • Cost is $79 per page, up to five pages.
  • Recommended hosting plan: $6.95 per month at Bluehost (includes domain name).
  • Payment is due in full on completion of site.
  • I will provide guidelines on content preparation including custom and stock images.
  • You can have up to three images per page, no photo galleries.
  • Site will be registered with search engines, and basic metatags prepared.
  • No dynamic site behavior, databases, animations, or e-commerce.
  • One month support and minor changes included at no extra cost
  • Maintenance and ongoing support past the first month are available at $60 per hour.

PACKAGE TWO: Do It Yourself


With this package, I will help you develop your own website and provide with training on the tools you need to do so. You will build the site with my guidance, host it, and maintain it yourself.
  • Cost is $249 plus cost of recommended software (Windows or Macintosh OS X).
  • Recommended hosting plan: $6.95 per month at Bluehost (includes domain name).
  • Payment is due in advance.
  • I will provide guidelines on content preparation including custom and stock images.
  • I will help you learn to use your site design software to develop and optimize your site.
  • One month unlimited consulting emails and phone calls included.
  • Ongoing support past the first month is available at $60 per hour.

PACKAGE THREE: Semi-Custom Design -- Your Best Value!


This package is your best value; you provide the content with my guidance, and I will develop the website for you, using wherever possible off the shelf open source components to control costs. I can build, host, and maintain the site for you with optional limited editing capabilities by you.
  • Cost is $89 per page type (plus $79 per page for additional pages of each type), no limit on the number of pages.
  • Recommended hosting plan: $6.95 per month at Bluehost (includes domain name).
  • 50% payment due on design acceptance, remaining 50% on completion of project.
  • I will provide guidelines on content preparation including custom and stock images.
  • I will provide guidelines on selecting keywords for search engine optimization.
  • No limits on types of content implemented; simple databases using Google Docs.
  • Can include e-commerce, simple content management system.
  • Search engine preparation includes registration, keyword optimization, site map, metatags.
  • Three months ongoing support and maintenance, including search engine optimization included.
  • Ongoing support past the first three months is available at $60 per hour.

PACKAGE FOUR: Fully Custom Design


If you need a complex site with database features and dynamic behavior, I will “hand-roll” a website to meet your needs, either with a content management system (Drupal, WordPress, MediaWiki) or by hand-coding it. Site hosting and maintenance will be specified in the contract.
  • Cost is $70 per hour plus cost of materials.
  • Recommended hosting plan: Bluehost or WiredTree, depending on site complexity, size, and expected traffic.
  • Cost estimates and payment schedule to be negotiated based on requirements analysis
  • If I can’t do it, I’ll work with you to find someone who can!

Consulting and Other Services:


My hourly fee for consulting, presentations, training, and maintenance of existing sites is $60 per hour, plus costs. Both development and delivery time will be billed. There is no charge for an initial consultation which may be conducted in-person, via phone, or via video-conferencing. A project plan with detailed estimates and defined deliverables will be presented based on your requirements, and presented for your approval prior to project commencement.
