Pricing

A simple web site might cost a few hundred dollars; more complex sites can cost much more.  The first step is estimation … based on the features you want, I’ll develop an estimate and we can work from it to negotiate content that will fit your budget.  Once we agree on an estimate, I’ll develop a contract detailing the content that will be provided. There will be additional charges for any additional features requested that aren’t in the contract’s feature list (having a clear mutual understanding up front of what will be done is the best way to avoid the dreaded phenomenon called Scope Creep, which kills many a project). Here are some details on the estimation process:

  • I will give you an initial estimate based on your requirements. This will be revised if your requirements change in the course of a project. To fill out my Request For Quote form, click on this Get An Estimate link (also available in the menu).
  • Estimates are based on the number and complexity of your site’s building blocks (or components). Some components are more difficult to set up and configure than others. The Get An Estimate form will provide me with the information needed to give a reasonably accurate estimate … and if there are any unclear requirements, I’ll ask for clarification.
  • There will be an extra charge for software and site content that must be purchased to implement your requirements. This can includes plugins for WordPress, clip art, stock images, and other software.
  • All clients get unlimited lifetime  access to members-only resources at no extra charge. This will include a library of tutorials.
  • If you’re not a client but would like to use the resources, you can read more about the resources and sign up by clicking Client Pages in the menu. Annual cost of a membership is $25.
  • My charge for special development requirements and support (and additional requirements not covered by the initial estimate) is $55 per hour for all services. I don’t charge for providing an initial estimate; you can review the estimate and decide whether you want to go forward with the project.

25% of the approved proposal amount will be due up front. Payment can be by PayPal on the client pages section of this site, or you can send a check. The site will be developed on my server, and you will review it there. Once you approve the final result, the balance will be due. Upon payment, the final version of the site will be moved to your server.
